How 360 Digital Marketing Strategy Changed The Game For Our Business
As a comparative literature graduate, 360 digital marketing wasn’t always a part of my long-term career goals. But as Ross Geller once said: PIVOT! I’m a big believer in using what you’ve got, which is how Anne Colette came to be part digital partnerships, part agency delivering digital marketing strategy for female-founded brands. How did we get here?
Let’s Rewind…
In 2019, I left my fashion job with a vision of doing something more than what I was already good at. A thirst for knowledge followed me for most of my life, so my next career pursuit made no exceptions. While I was making a shift to a position in conference marketing, I met with friends from my days in fashion and listened to their concerns about the future of digital creators. Anne Colette Management was born out of the interest in helping these creative women scale their digital partnerships while keeping their creative vision intact. We worked on setting their rates, negotiating their terms, and getting them paid what they deserved- on time.
Through it all, I was gaining serious educational traction in a field I did not expect to love: I was designing email marketing campaigns, optimizing web pages for SEO, participating in conference planning and promotion. All the while, I got to do what I loved- the PR and event planning sides were still intact. Still, I found myself hungry for even more knowledge, and excited by the fruits of my labor by way of real-time email and marketing analytics, directly from our audience. I knew this was something I loved to do, and something that could help my clients.
Since then, we’ve added an entire branch to Anne Colette Management to include these same services for smaller brands, companies, and even individuals, allowing them to use the skills that I’ve learned from some of the heaviest hitters in the e-commerce and retail space to grow their presence, no matter where they were at in the process.
What is 360 Digital Marketing...
And how exactly can it help you? Digital marketing involves a myriad of different tools and strategies that brands use to introduce their brand to you and foster staying power in your daily routine. This can mean advertising, email marketing, or even social media. But digital marketing strategy is nothing without analytics: these numbers tell us what’s working, what isn’t, and where we can go from there. The combination of strategy and analytics produces the actionable results we love- sales, clicks, followers, and more!
The “360” part comes into play when you sync your digital marketing efforts to the beat of a core drum. By combining tactics like customer values and storytelling with data-driven organization, the result is a marketing campaign that not only works, but works harder for you.
What do I mean by that? Well, when you think through a 360 campaign, you want to unify your efforts under one ultimate goal. That can be email collection, customer conversions, follower generation… the list goes on. This also doesn’t have to stop at the campaign- you can set ongoing goals for your marketing efforts as you grow! By unifying your content around a common theme, you can more easily achieve a cross-promotional strategy as well as ensure your message is consistent to all of your followers. Your blogs should be promoted on email and social, and both email and social should call back to the blog, which contains a buy button for your product, and buying the product opts the customer into your email list. And so the web continues to spin itself!
Maintaining a suite of content, including email, webpages, brand partnerships, events, and social media, you can carry out a story that makes sense while keeping an eye on the analytics to find out what works. Already know that your audience prefers IG Live over IGTV? What about emails about mission vs new sales announcements? You can use these analytics to fuel your 360 strategies and ensure you’re putting manpower in the right places.
Why This Works For Anne Colette
As an agency and an educational platform, we believe that knowledge is power. At Anne Colette, our goal is to share the power of learning, resources, and collaboration with our readers and our clients. You might be surprised to hear that digital marketing strategies can do more than just generate sales for your favorite brands. These tactics are rooted in the goal of connecting with an audience towards a goal, which means that you can apply a 360 strategy to managing your Instagram account, growing your LinkedIn network, or even applying for jobs.
Understanding the ways that your digital footprint can foster connections with your audience is the first step in generating a 360 digital marketing strategy, and this mindset can help you build momentum thoughtfully and with purpose, by using data analytics to fuel your next move.
What can working with a 360 marketing strategy do for YOU?
Digital marketing strategy can do so much more than get your brand “out there.” Aside from growing your audience, these digital strategies can also help you understand your current audience, learn from their behaviors and deliver even more of what they love.
If you’re looking to grow on social, a digital marketing strategy can help you funnel your audience from one platform, like Instagram or Facebook, into following another account, like Tiktok. Seeing how your followers’ interactions compare to one another can also tell you a lot about what kind of content is landing with your audience.
If you’re looking to expand your LinkedIn network, employing digital marketing strategies can help you build your page and message potential connections. Look at industry trends and translate what your industry is looking for into what you can showcase on your page. Use ethos-forward messaging to connect with new people and instill interest and trust in your new audience.
The list goes on!
